2022 F250 Tremor w 7.3 has a chirping sound a buddy helped diagnose as driveline generated. I originally assumed brakes, but we have pulled brakes, turned rotors, etc. noise is tied to wheel speed not engine speed, so I assume driveline. Wheel speed increase is louder faster tone, hard to determine if mid ship or tail. Dealership is 3 weeks out to even look at. Approx 43,000 miles. I did a search but only found posts from early 2000’s
Sometime the rubber on a grease/dust seal will make a noise under the right conditions (like a dry squeegee on glass), could also be a premature u-joint failure. If you can raise the wheels off the ground and spin them, this might help isolate it.
Was able to lift the wheels up this am and determined the noise was from the rear output shaft on transfer case. Put a little oil on the seal and silenced it for about 15 minutes. Transfer case was filled to appropriate level to rule that out. Dealership is able to get me in about 10 days now- they stated the problem is a “sling ring” and okay to drive, just annoying sound. I assume closer diagnosis freed up time to get it in.

Thanks for the info. I’ll keep it in mind if I hear something like that on mine.
