brake upgrade
I have a 91 Ford F-150 Standard size cab. Two wheel drive, 5 speed, 4.9 liter 300 cbi strait six. I have disc breaks in the front and drums in the back. Does anybody have any information on how to upgrade my drum breaks in the back to disc breaks. I want to do the upgrade my-self.

Try using the search feature of this website about disc brake conversions and such...you might find some useful info. I know there was a post in this forum a few weeks ago that might be 5-6 pages down the line.

There are basically 2 options:
1) Buy a kit from TSM, SSB, or another; buy the calipers, rotors, pads, e-brake hardware not included in the kit, and bolt it all on;
2) Swap in a late-model rear disk 8.8" axle complete and convert your front hubs to accept the same rims.
I'm going with option #2 as soon as my current tires wear out.
