here's what I've got going
on a trade and have had it for a coup[le of months without even driving it anywhere accept in the yard.
But, it brings back memories from 40 years ago when the truck would have been new. Knowing what
I remember from back then, the truck wasn't anything special but I could see how it could be with some
creativity and thinking out of the box more so now than back then.
Anyway, I've started collecting ( without going anywhere but to a scrap yard ) the parts I will need to make
this truck a sneaky sleeper that should leave most people that I know scratching their heads. I picked up a
set of GT-40 cyl heads, GT-40 intake, M90 supercharger and a intercooler so far. I'm no stranger to projects
like this, however it has been about 15 or 20 years since I've done something like this. I'm very confident that will
not have any trouble getting everything fab'd up and installed in the truck. I still have to decide on a cam and what
type of management system i will run. I know that the way the engine in the truck is being managed as it is now,
will not do with the addition of a supercharger and other power adders I may or may not use. I like to stick with the things
that I can find in a scrapyard if possible ( ecm's, ecu's, sensors ect, ect.) but I know that isnt always possible. Ive made
conversion harnesses to convert a 2nd gen honda prelude from pre-obd to obd-1 so I could use a diy chipped civic ecu
with excellent results.
I am looking for advice or information on which direction to go for managing the engine that I'm about to build. I can do a
megasquirt setup or something along that line but if can get what i need out of other later model pickups, thats the way I
would prefer to go. Any thoughts, advice or ideas will be great appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard.
that a stand alone or even a piggy back system isn't required? E85 sensor, bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors.....
fuel pressure regulator manual or preset waste gate?
