remote car starter question
the name on it is direkt start but i have no clue as to the model # i got no paperwork or warranty info when i got it ,although they claim the install and the unit has a lifetime guaruntee..
i am wondering if anyone has a remote starter made by this company or anyone that has an idea as to what company makes these?
i shouldve checked the manufacturers background that way i knew they wouldnt close theyre doors tomorrow and me get stuck without much needed repair parts.
i am an idiot what can i say
oh well any info is appreciated
Don't be so hard on yourself. If they close their doors and fall into that black hold never to be found again, no worries! 99.9% of all remote starters function on the same premise and another alarm-install place can likely fix it if you have a problem with it.
Example: a buddy of mine has a wholesaler's license for electronic equipment (he was in biz for 8 years doing everything from engineering home systems to stereo installs). I got a remote starter unit from him (buddy discount, thank you very much!) for cheap. He called one of his buddies who's still in the install biz at a local shop. Well, they don't carry or deal with that brand (CrimeStopper) specifically, but the guy said, "bring it by, I'll set it up for you: $20".
Bottom line: a remote starter is a remote starter is a remote starter. If yours craps out or acts up, call a few local shops and ask them to look at it. The technology is basically the same across the board.
