I have a 1962 F100 unibody, my 223 has 3 cracks between #2,#3,#$ so we put it out of it's misery want to update to a 302 what all is involved found one kit on Speedway Mtrs #7204145 but it looks flakey. Are there other kits or weld in jobs? Taking mtr out of a 85 F150 5.0 carbed and C6 will that crossmember work? Trying to get a grip here just run all new brake lines (need to take pics and post) that was last thing on frame ready to remarry body and chassis patch panels can be done on trk. TIAQ
The problem with those kits is that they locate the motor in the center and don’t offset to the right.
I bought a similar kit to install a 429 in my Unibody. I bought two of the kits and combined the frame brackets, making them 4 bolt instead of two.
I modified the engine brackets so that the engine offset to the right.
I also tossed the rubber mounts and opted for urethane.
so basically, you bought the Tran=Dapt 4102 from Summit but order 2 kits to reverse the short ones? just by pics looks like it installs inside the frame rail? Hope there are more pics, have you already installed it?
I bought the 4685 kit, I believe. For 429/460. Same concept, though.
I doubled up the frame mounts and swapped the original rubber mounts for urethane.
I mocked up the install.
