Water Temp?

Is it normal for a PSD to be slow about the engine temperature comming up to normal? It was about 30 degrees here at 4AM when I went to work. Under these conditions, it takes about 2 1/2 miles before it starts to warm up for heat in the cab. My V-10 only takes about 1 mile and it is nice and toasty in the cab. Wonder if a thermostate is in need of a change? Thanks

My 97 takes about 3 miles. I had Ford check everything out and they said this was normal and found nothing. If the truck is plugged in, it helps a bit.

Thanks guys...sounds like I'm right in the ball park although I'd also like to hear from someone that has a truck that is the age of mine, just to compare. Thanks again

It's 2 1/2 miles of 35 MPH road to town and the freeway, and my temp guage barely moves. It doesn't take long at 65 - 70 mph to warm it up. If I head the other way, it's 7 mi. to CDA (more 35-45mph), and it still just barely starts getting warm. All this without plugging in the block heater. It's just not working hard enough at low speeds, and, of course, running the heater uses up that hot water, too.
