New tailgate bent?

I think it's actually correct, as i noticed that same thing on a couple of F-2's at one of the Truckstock events. My '52 F-3 also appears to have that bow on the outer edge, but straight on the inside (but mine is hammered pretty good). Not sure it's correct for the smaller trucks though....

not sure what year you have, nor exactly what you mean by "bent". I will say I have an 1951 F1 original tailgate and a Dan Carpenter reproduction (bought in 1997??). Both have the "taper" in the tube. It is larger dia in the middle and smaller at the ends. I never noticed this until I bought the DC tailgate. I will say I was quite impressed with the DC tailgate, it looked exactly like the original ford part (minus rust and dents...lol). They did a really good job on it.
