Anyone know of the earliest year ford put full power(4 or 6 way) seats in the aerostar? Did they even put them in? I know they have the power lumbar, but I was hoping for more.
Does anyone know if there are more than one seat design? I have captain's seats on the front of my 1990 XLt, and I don't like their shape. I find that after a bit of driving, and bouncing on road irregularities, I would slowly slide down the seat. I need to periodically push myself back up on long trips. I'm thinking more thigh support might help here, or at least have the front edge higher than the rear edge.
xlt4wd90....do you have the high backs with the hole near the top of the seat? I am lookin at puttin a set of them in my 79 crewcab shortbox. I sat in them briefly in the wrecking yard, and they seemed okay. Should I look around for some diff buckets?
Yes, that's what I got; high back captain's chairs with a fold down arm rest on the inside. Mine are cloth covered. If you can get them cheaply from the salvage yard, you can try it. Maybe my *** is just shaped funny, that I slide down on them, and they might work just fine for you.
The aerostar seats are actually going into my 1979 crewcab shortbox. Its lowered, custom paint, etc. So I wanted to get some decent buckets for it. I was at the wrecker the other day, jumpin in and out of different vehicles with buckets to see which I liked best. For what was available, the aerostar seeemed to be the best(plus I kinda wanted to stay with ford). I can pick up a set of buckets for about $50 from Pick a Part wrecker. Some wreckers want hundreds of dollars for the same seats, just cuz they take them out themselves. I dont mind pulling them my self.
thanks for the input
