Louder turn signal fail
Before I spent $15 for a “loud” turn signal flasher that had mixed reviews. I figured I’d try cutting the lid off of mine.
There’s a metal finger in the plastic cover that I guess helps hold the flasher unit in place so I carefully cut the lid off of the flasher , hoping to let some of the noise out of the aluminum can.
It did not make any difference that I could hear. Does anybody have real world experience with an aftermarket, “extra loud” turn signal flasher?
Here’s what it looked like after I cut part of the lid off
This is the finger that I think helps hold a flasher unit in place

At least that is what I thought the other day when I pulled it to check a fuse for my trailer brake controller.
As for driving miles with the light on I am old enough and drive slow enough, straight six motor, that I have the right to

Not that I do in the pick up but I have left the head light on when parked more than once, ok 3 times now in 4 years

I have LED bulbs in the dash turn & high beam sockets and they are pretty bright in the day time.
I wonder if you could find a chime or buzzer and hook 1 side to the flasher and the other to ground so when it flashed it made a noise?
Something like the seat belt buzzer or a chime from a different car or truck from the junk yard?
I have seen on Youtube where people have built different "buzzers" to play a song etc.
Maybe look them over to see what they do to get it to work.
Do a search of this "how to build a car door chime module"

instead of cutting up the lid I added a length of wire with Quick Connect terminals, and will find a place to mount it under the dash
It is louder than stock. It has the relay click plus a beeping noise. I’m hoping when it’s mounted solidly it’ll work for me.
Our dash is mostly plastic so I dont know how that would work out but just a thought?
