Full part number is C2AZ-7109-A and is listed as a snap ring, but is of a spring steel wire construction. I second reaching out to Van Pelt to get set with what you need, and be sure to share with them the exact transmission we determined you had earlier: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post20994919
This kit of theirs may work for you, but I would confirm with them prior to ordering:
The earlier part number for that spring retainer/snap ring is 51A 7109-A2. Web search for that part number brings up the 51A 7109-S repair kit from several sources, including Van Pelts, and the Van Pelts listing includes the application needed here.
So, you talked with Mr. Van Pelt? What did he have to say?
I did. He got me that kit you linked, a gasket set and even made up a set of snap-rings since my son kind of destroyed most of them when taking the transmission apart. He also gave me some tips on how to handle the 3 or 4 damaged teeth and we discussed some replacement gears he has available. It's very nice to talk to people who enjoy what they do... the help and insight they can offer really is amazing.
