I just purchased a 2000 Ford Excursion with a blown motor.
When I got it the radio was also missing.
I was not able to start the motor with the key but I was able to start the motor with the key on and jumping the solenoid.
The dealer said the key chip is working because the theft light is not blinking.
I cannot figure this one out at all. I thought maybe the radio was somehow tied to the starting problem.
Any thoughts as to where to look?
Tom
I thought that as well, but the solenoid tests fine. However, the small relay wire has no current when turning the key to start. I can hear a click in the box next to the steering collumn on the firewall. I can't seem to find if there is a fusable link or inline fuse somewhere. all the fuses test fine.
