Tuners

Has anyone heard of or tried to use chipyourcar.com on their diesel truck?
I am looking into buying this chip for my F450.

I call snake oil on that. The only way to properly tune your F450 is with a flash programmer that programs your ECU and TCU.

it depends what the goal is

a lot of folks need a “tune” so they can disable certain things that epa doesn’t want us to talk about.

the tune for more power, or other performance goals doesn’t necessarily require a reflash type of activity and you head into murky waters with alligators lurking if you go that route for the simple reason of service departments reflating back to stock for various reasons. There are a lot of folks that come on this forum with trucks that had a flash type tune which the service department relished for what ever reasons and now they have a brick which difficult solution options.

these chip in a box performance devices are just passive interference devices that trick your map, temp, and fuel pressure sensor to believe there are different conditions than actual and end result more fuel so that the sensor readings rest where desired…and there is a rich fuel mix resulting in more power…and more soot in most cases.

there are other interference type of devices that have some intelligence at work that the operator can multiple pick from and provide data such as the banks deringer

then, of course, you can also get more power, cleaner burn, cooler exhuast with no flash or interference type of devices by just adding an AEM methonal /water infection system (about 500 bucks).
