First generation Ford explorer
Hello all. I am from Ireland and a while back I bought a first generation ford explorer 4lt V6.. it was registered in Spain and garaged most of its life.. it has 68 thousand miles from new in 1992. I am currently trying to import the truck into Ireland.. the import office requires an engine number for the truck.. I can’t find anything stamped on the engine.. I have gone to Ford here in Ireland and they are unable to help me… by any chance can someone please help me with this issue.. there is a code attached via a sticker to the rocker cover… 1G944AA. The VIN is 1FMCU24X3MUD17799. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance for any assistance.. regards Derek

Welcome to FTE. If you scroll to the "Performance, Engine &Troubleshooting" forum, then click on the "Ford V6" subforum, you'll find the section dedicated to the German V6 engines. Your 4.0 is there. If you address your query in that section, you will probably get more help than you need..
