I had the Andersen on my RAM and it bent the hell out of the steel floor of the bed, I figure it will ruin the aluminum bed floor on the Ford.
Does your truck have the factory hitch pucks?
If so, I would do a normal puck mounted 5th wheel hitch with a Reese Sidewinder pin box.

I have the spray in bedliner and will get a mat and roll with the Anderson. If it’s not comfortable I’ll probably get the B&W Companion. I’ll let y’all know how it goes. I do have the puck system.

Just wondering, but shouldn't the most significant concern be about payload capacity on the F250? our Platty only has 2200 lbs. We are looking at a 5th wheel ( Grand Design 298BH) - and with a 1500 lb hitch weight unloaded, we are going to be we well over payload...truck has airbags and the 10k package

This is why we're personally stepping up to a 350. Essentially the same truck, but the 250 has lower numbers for various reasons apparently. Both are very capable vehicles.

That is the biggest challenge with an f250 and a fifth wheel. Especially a diesel, at most your looking at 2600-2700 pounds of payload with a crew cab. My CCSB has about 3100 pounds of so of room on the GAWR on the rear but only 2540 pounds of available payload due to the de-rated GVWR.

seems to me it would be cheaper to upgrade the emblems on the side of the truck, and get a sticker from the junk yard and olace over yours with higher payload.

are you upgrading to a f350 to tow your 21ft micro light. What's it weigh 4500lbs empty 5500 loaded? I would tow that with an f150 all day long, or even a colorado duramax.

I towed a '21 Grand Design 280RS with my '20 F250 with the 7.3L and the 4:30 rear end. Towed that thing like a champ! I now have a '23 Brinkley Z2900 and a '23 F350 with the H.O. 6.7 and a 3:31 rear end

No. We're getting it to step up to a 5th wheel in the near future. And your weight estimations are off anyways.

Thanks for your example. I’m going with the yellow sumosprings as well. Montana 295rl coming next week, 34 ft long and should be about 13k loaded. 👍🏻

Might be a good idea to get it weighed for that just in case situation where you need to show your numbers. It doesn't cost much and is worth it to know where you are exactly.

Depends on the option packages selected.

My FIL has an F250 XLT Premium, Powerstroke, CCSB, 4x4, with the 'Heavy Haul' option or whatever it's called. No fifth wheel prep, carpet delete, otherwise pretty loaded.

His payload, per the sticker in his doorjamb, is over 3k (I don't recall exactly, I want to say it's 3100?).

You mean the high capacity tow? Aka Dana m275 and overloads? If so that gets an additional 800 pounds of GVWR.

I just sold my 2007 bF250, I have a Reese slider, The 2019 I bought has the puck system, after searching I did find a Reese adapter to convert mt rail mount Reese hitch to a Puck mount.
I originally did not have a slider and after blowing out a rear window I switched to a slider.
