Hey so I have a 1995 with a 6" lift and 35s with a 302H.O and a 4r70w tranny 4x4, Has shorty headers into y pipe through flowmaster muffler, k&n cold air intake and its a brand new long block from summit racing with 800miles. It has stock 3.55 gearing at the moment and I am wondering what the best gear ratio would be for better mpg but I also do a little towing and don't want to ruin that. I keep seeing 4.10 or 4.56 to get a little better mpg but will that ruin my towing ability? I currently get 6mpg and I typically tow a flatbed trailer with dirt bikes and quads but I'm about to buy a 5th wheel camp trailer and gutting it.

Be sure to recalibrate the speedo for the larger tires.
The optimal gearing for a 5.0/OD truck of this vintage with stock sized tires is 3.55 to 4.10, so with 35's you need to be in the 4.30-4.90 gear range. The lower end of the range will delever best fuel milage while the higher end will sacrifice some of that for better towing performance. Also note that the truck will consume more fuel overall with the larger/heavier tires, expect to lose 2-3mpg across the board.
wait so ill lose 2-3 mpg after regearing to 4.56s from my 3.55s?
No your milage should increase, what I didn't include in my previous statement is that a truck would lose 2-3mpg with larger tires compared to the same truck with stock tires.. which should average around 15mpg.
