intercooler rubber

So I was checking out the forum and came across this statement by cgl in the super duty fourm regarding warranty work....."changed intercooler rubber hoses with new updated material and hose clamps (had visible residue on hot side) "

Now when I pop my hood and look at the turbo plumbing, on the right side I have two unions connected with blue rubber hose. Very grimey and dirty. On the left side there are also two unions connected with black rubber hose that says cold side only. These have residue on them also, but not as visible as on the other side, which I am guessing is the hot side.

This has been bugging me for awhile and I need to clean it. But,
is this normal or is the hose material or clamps in need of replacement? Is this the dealers responsibilty? Any service bulletins on this. BTW, mine is an 01 F250.

Thanks for any advice.

The dirtiness you see is due to the closed ventilation system of the PSD, for emissions purposes. Some folks put in a crankcase ventilation system that includes a filter to stop the accumulation.

Likely the post you read was about someone installing aftermarket hose and clamps. I'm sure more than one company sells them.
