Coil polarity ?

I have a 1987 with a 4.9 but most any with the square coil will help because they are probably all the same as long as you tell me what year it is I can look at my wiring diagrams . So anyway the terminals have been pulled loose from the plastic holder that locks them on the coil . I want to be sure that I get the polarity correct when I splice on the new pigtail and I’m seeing no polarity markings on the coil itself.

i think does , my Haynes manuals schematic shows polarity at the coil it's just doesn't indicate what side it's being shown from .

No...they are showing + as the supply side and - as the switching signal. The coil itself is just a simple transformer. No polarity.
