Has anyone fixed this? I can't even recall when it all started, but it didn't always do this. Somewhere around 2000 RPM's, and only at that RPM, it sounds like an air leak of some kind. It will continue as long as you stay at that particular RPM. It's definately not an exhaust leak, it is much more steady than that. It might be something resonating, but I think "air leak" sounds much more like it. When my truck was at 35,500 miles, I took it to the dealer and we spent 6 hours trying to figure out what it was. Not easy to figure out (and we didn't) when it only makes this noise while the truck is in motion.
Has anyone else had this problem that has remedied it without replacing the y-pipe? I heard of someone putting the Banks exhaust on and the flutter stopped, but I don't want to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise, I'll begin by ripping the heat shields off this next weekend.
