Yikes! Bet a fix is not cheap!! Can I install the upgraded instrument panel? Ie. digital!!
Dealership isn’t going to un-solder it and re-solder a new one on for you if that’s what you mean. Their going to price you out for labor and costs for a brand new panel.
But on the other hand it’s a chime who cares?
You can install any aftermarket on you want. Only a few are plug and play though if that’s what you mean. Has to be setup for the Ford OEM plugin in the back though whomever is selling them will specify what it’s for.
Thanks, I was thinking of a oem ford type module, my buddy has a 2014 with digital display, I would think it would be a plug and play on any f series trucks.
If I install this in my 2016 F-350 XLT will it work as if it was in a Platinum truck? 2014-2016 Ford F350 6.7 Platinum gauge cluster p/n kc3t-10849-rb aw66072

If its the same plug in, then yes it should, all the wires for each specific function should all be in the same spot.
That's an educated guess. But yes I'd confidently try it.
Cluster upgrades can be problematic. Sometimes the upgraded cluster needs to be "programmed" for the specific options in the current vehicle. Plus you will need to reset the odometer.
Forscan can change the cluster configuration (called the as built data). It can also set odometers to any value higher than the existing mileage (can't decrease for legal reasons).
For your model year, it won't hurt anything to plug in the replacement cluster to see if everything works the same. If there are problems you will need to learn about as built data and find the data points that need to be changed. This is not hard but will take some reading and internet research.
The nice thing is you can usually buy a junkyard cluster for under $100, especially from the pick-n-pull type yards.
