Bed floor that won’t peel or flake

65 f 100 long bed

I have a very solid, no rot and no rot holes bed floor. A previous owner(s) had the bed painted when they painted the truck. There is however surface rust from the bed being used prior to me buying it. I’d estimate that 25% has surface rust. My goal is to sand, prime, roll on bed liner. (White) The truck is garaged and has a tonneau cover and the most I’ll put in the back are cruise night chairs and a cooler.
Yet, I am still concerned about it peeling due to me choosing all the wrong products.
Advice? Tip?
Thank You!

Bed Liner

I used Raptor. Like any paint job it is all in the preparation. RAPTOR LINER USA - U-Pol Raptor Liner
You need to get the rust spots down to bare clean metal and spray a coat of high-quality epoxy primer. You need to use a primer that has a good amount of time to recoat without sanding since most epoxy's do not sand well and will gum up the paper.
You will get the best-looking results using a Shutz gun. A roller will work but it is a second choice. Once this product is catalyzed the working time is short. In other words, you need to clean the gun a soon as you finish with a bottle or if rolling have plenty of spare rollers.

I used Durabak. Available in multiple colors, mine is blue. Proper prep is key with any of them. There are photos in my build thread.

I used Dupli color bed coating I think it was as the liner can looks different.
I did 2 coats top & bottom of my cab after I replaced the floors / rockers / cab corners.
It took 2 coats to get the coverage I liked, 1 was just to thin.
It also did nothing for sound as any stone that hit the floor bottom, no rug at the time, sounded like a gun shot.

As said prep is everything.
It did scrape off when I installed the seat. Was by my self and even with rags down it scraped a little off.

Now the bed floor already had Line-X down but was dirty and had something spilled on it so I did 1 coat to make it look good.
Because I did not prep it enough it did lift when I hit the floor with 170 PSI shop air to blow it clean a few years later as I do use the truck to haul my weekly trash.
The floor is a 8 foot style side cut short and made to fit a 81 flare side bed sides to. It just replaces the wood floor.
