Lately I've been hearing a rattle that sounds like a loose exhaust component, when the tranny is out of park, and the truck is at idle, like at a stoplight.
Then, a few days later, the truck wouldn't start unless it was in neutral. I also noticed the the gearshift indicator on the dash stops right on the "P" for park, instead of going further past to the far left edge. My question is could the shift linkage have come "loose" or can it be adjusted to correct this problem?
Also, anybody have any problem's with a DNE2 not staying engaged? I think that is the problem.... Sometimes if the engine is revved up a little bit and I let acc. and hit the brakes (like a quick stop in afternoon traffic), the DNE2 (or maybe the trans, i dunno for sure) slips into neutral, and I can't put the trans in park and the truck goes nowhere until I shut it down. After it shuts down, It goes into park fine, and will restart and drive away like nothing happened.
