5.4 3V Driver side timing wrong
Bit of a weird one here, I have an 09 F350 with the 5.4 3V I bought non running. I went to do a compression test and the pass side is great 170+psi on all 4 but on the drivers side I have 0psi on all 4 cyls. I thought "well great junk motor I guess" untill I took off the valve cover and noticed the timing on the whole bank is way off, like, intake valves open during compression stroke way off. I did a leakdown test and it holds pressure great on all 4 cyls so by miracle I think my valves are fine but I am blown away on how something like this could happen. Either someone tried to redo the timing and royally messed up or I sheared the locating pin on the back of the phaser, i'm not sure, but the fact the valves are all intact is pretty suprising to say the least. Guess its time to dig in further...
