Need center cap help

Have a 2023 F350 SRW 7.3 which from what I understand has the Sterling 11.6 rear axle (same axle as the photos I have seen in other threads). I acquired some Tremor take offs for a pretty good deal from a seller who had a 23 F350 high output diesel tremor. When I went to install the rear center caps they are not deep enough to lock onto the lugs. Does this sound right? I would think the diesel axle would be just as big as the one on my gas pickup.

I want to get the correct caps. Does anyone know the part numbers for them? Or know of a black OEM cap that would work for me?

I did call the seller and he said he believes they were the right caps, but he said the dealer did swap the wheels off of his old F350 the day he bought the truck then just put the wheels/tires and caps in the bed of his new truck. He said it is possible they gave him the wrong caps.

The diesel Tremors seem to still be using the Dana rear axle. The Dana does have a deeper center cap than the cap from a truck with a 10.5" Sterling. I don't know how deep the center cap is that's used with the 11.6". You are the first I've seen to post about this, sounds like you discovered that the 11.6 uses a cap that's even deeper than the Dana cap.

Correct. So if OP did get the correct center caps from a M275, that would mean the Sterling 11.6 has a deeper hub than the Dana. Interesting.

Im curious as to what axle my ‘24 is going to come with now? F350 SRW, 7.3, 4.30.
My friends ‘23 F350 SRW 6.8L 3.73 has the 10.5”

I pulled the caps off my '23 STX with a Dana... I'm not sure if they would work for you...

Not a very good picture, but that's what I got...

Are sure you have the Dana and not the Sterling under there? I'm guessing yours is the 11.6.

The problem he has is that the caps that came with the wheels are for the Dana rear. He needs the caps from the Sterling 11.6, which yours might be.

I have a Dana... unless Sterling uses Dana parts on their axles...

I was confused by the description above about which was deeper, that's why I gave the measurements. They very well may not work for the OP.

There are 2 Sterling axles in use now, the 10.5 and the 11.6. The Dana for the most part is only coming under the diesel with Tremor pkg trucks. The wheels he bought are from a diesel Tremor. He has the 11.6, since the caps don't fit, it's pretty safe to say that the 11.6 requires deeper caps than the Dana.

The 11.6 has lower shock mounts that are stamped Dana, but it has 16 bolts on the cover.

Well... that's what I was talking about... the shock mounts. I do have 16 bolts...

So... maybe my caps would work for the OP...

Thank you very much for all the info! The caps I got are not that deep, so I guess it’s possible the caps for the Dana rear axle are not as deep as the ones on the Sterling axle. Charlie 98 I believe what you have will work for me, I am sending you a message.

Did those fit? I just bought a set of black Tremor wheels and have the Sterling axle.
