Throwout bearing question
Are they supposed to be greased as both i have were not and i greased the one i am using that had 11,000 on it.
If they are not supposed to be greased then how do they keep from wearing out in only a couple hundred miles?

The service manual indicates that the release bearing should not be cleaned in a solvent as they are pre-lubricated. There are no lubrication instructions.
The maintenance lubrication section mentions lubricating the clutch release equalizer shaft, but not specifically the bearing.

Well your a 50 series my 55 bearing has grease maybe they are different and lubed with graphite. I bought my bearing and a new fork on eBay. The thunderbird was different, when I compaired it to the fork that was causing problems with my first gear. Only. My truck is three on that oil tree.AJ
