84 f250 diff cover attachment

Hello. I’m wondering what this plate and linkage attached the the diff cover are for. One bolt snapped, so I need to replace it or delete the attached plate. Can anyone tell me what the linkage is for? Here’s a link

Thanks.

That is a rear brake load balance assy.
No load the arm is pulled down slowing brakes psi to the rear brakes to keep them from locking up.
Add load the truck squats the arm comes down letting more psi to the rear brakes to help stop.

I don't know if it could be removed or not?
I would remove the other bolt holding that bracket in place so you can remove the broken one.
Then find threaded rod that fits the hole and make a stud long enough so You can get a nut on to hold the cover then put the bracket on and another nut to hold it.

BTW DO NOT REMOVE THE ARM FROM THE VALVE UP TOP. It is set from the factory and hard to get back right.
