Any idea on what number and manufacturer for the sealed beam headlights?
6 volts, high and low on the 2 bulbs
I can't read the numbers on the existing bulb

I just bought a pair of H6006s off of Amazon for my '52 F1 and they fit and seem to be nice and bright. They are halogen. Does anyone know if there is an issue with halogen bulbs drawing too many amps. A friend with a Chev pickup told me he had to put in relays for halogens. I have a stock generator and 6V positive ground.
Halogen bulbs actually draw a little less power than the original incandescent filament bulbs. I run them with good condition stock wiring without issue. However, I will never argue against a good relay installation.

hi Ed, do you mean any 6v replacement from today Or factory originals or period correct replacements?
any original ones had no alignment tips, the Factory ones I believe didn’t say Ford, but said Westinghouse, GE or Tung-sol on them. I think..

the headlights from the 50’s were considered incandescent? That technology would have been used up to advent of halogens? Halogens came along when in the 80’s I’m guessing?
The 6006 halogen variants available today are direct DOT certified replacements. The external temperature of the sealed bulb unit will not be of any significant difference.
Just looking for something that gives more light, I am thinking mine may be just worn out
gotcha, these are a pair of 6v ge lamps nos from the 50’s nonalignment tips. They’re bright enough. I use the spotlight in a pinch if I’m really in the dark.
OK. here is the rest of the story. I have been at every Pa Truckstock and I stay at a hotel about 10 miles from the park. The roads to the hotel are country roads and pitch black at night. First time I did them at night it was a real dangerous mission. So now I leave while still light out, II would like to stay later but I just can't see. My lights look bright when I stare at them head on but not so bright when I am on the road. I have adjusted them several times to no avail. Thats the story
Ed- if that’s the case and I know a lot of gentlemen that are complaining about the same issue. My friend has a stock 36 coupe and changed to LED headlamps, says the difference is incredible.
Being led headlamps only , you shouldn’t have any problems with flashers and such. But the high low switch probably won’t work but you won’t need it anymore.

There is no reason the high/low switch wouldn't remain functional... the bulb type has no bearing on its function.
Also, if the use of LEDs is a bandaid over subpar wiring, it is only a matter of time before the wiring further deteriorates and the LEDs no longer function.
