I'm new to FTE and hope this post is in the right spot. I have a camperized 2007 Econoline E 350 with only 40,000 kilometres on the odometer. Triton V10 6.8 liter engine. I have been having intermittent surging problems and local dealership has not been able to find the problem. Engine will occasionally race and needs to be shifted into neutral to stop the surging. Very dangerous! Nothing shows on dealer computer despite 3 visits. Replaced throttle position sensor and mass air flow sensor with no luck. Dealer could not find any vacuum leaks. Van is camping dream vehicle with a GTRV pop top and I'm reluctant to give up. I would appreciate any input from Econoline owners who have solved similar issues. Thanks for any help!
Have the codes tested somewhere else?
AutoZone for instance just to see what if any codes are displayed
Your engine is racing not surging
Your TP may not have a clean sweep with the voltage increasing as the throttle plate is moved
Sometimes that will not set a code
You need to test the pid or backprobe the TP and check the voltage
