Need some help with fuel system problems
Hi there folks,
I've got a quick question. I am running an 87 F150 with the 4.9 litre motor, It's dual fuel propane and gas. Normally around this time of year I stop using the propane and start using gas. My problem is that when I put gas in the tank a couple of days ago it wouldn't start but on propane it runs perfectly. At first I thought fuel pump plugged line etc but something got me wondering. My fuel gauge is not reading any gasoline but If I shift over to propane the gauge works fine. Does anybody have any idea if this whole issue could be electrical. Also I'm wondering if the gas tank has the old fashion float or is there some other sending unit for the gas gauge ie the float bowl on the rail etc. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Yes unfortunately,
If it wasn't I'd be able to take it all apart without the pressure relief valve and tool for disconnecting the fuel lines from the pump, reservoir and filter. As it is now I am hoping that it is electrical so I can work on it myself without borrowing the tools needed.
