alternator removal

hey guys how do i get my alternator out my chilton book sucks. i removed two bolts that look like they held it but it still wont move. thanks for the help.

Pry it out with a bar. Just dont pry against anything that will bend. It fits really tight in there, after its been there a while they get stuck.

Just in case you are having the same problem as I did when I replaced my alt...

I actually had to remove the entire bracket that holds on the air pump/alternator because someone had placed an "updated" bracket on it from another engine. It caused the main bolt (where the alt. actually pivots) to be secured blindly into the bracket where the head was unaccessible. Fun, fun, fun.

Hope for your sake that is not the problem.
