Who wants to mess around with all those pan bolts and findin a big pan to drain that wonderful smelling burnt up fluid. I just grabbed a long center punch and gave the housing a good whack and popped a whole in her and watched the fluid spill out!!!…Just Kidding!!!
My Son was goin to fill his truck up this morning and I noticed tranny fluid spilling out! We got underneath and found fluid spewing out of the tranny right above the Cooler line. The fluid is burnt up pretty bad. Less than 1000 miles on a complete flush of the system.
seems like something punched a whole thru the tranny. Never had anything like this happen before. Gonna drop it Monday, anybody ever seen anything like this before? Right above the cooler line.
Usually, if the fluid is burnt, there is a lot more damage. There is a reason why the fluid gets that hot and the hard parts probably got hotter.
here is vid. Difficult to get up there with the tranny in. Right above the cooler line. There is a hole with fluid spewing out. Gonna drop the trans tomorrow
No idea really so pure speculation here, if something is plugging up that line farther in, then it would back up which would cause the weakest part to burst. And no circulation would certainly cause the fluid that is in there to burn.
Pulled the tranny out today and found where the fluid was spewing out from. Has anyone ever seen this before? Something had to let go inside. It looks like something cut thru the housing instead of actually grenading inside and cracking the housing.
There are plenty of videos on the disassembly procedure of the E4OD. I suspect it would take about an hour to determine if there was something internal that caused your problem. Even if there was, you need at minimum a case or a least someone that would be willing to weld it up. Welding aluminum is difficult and welding oil soaked aluminum brings it to a higher level of difficulty.
Maybe it's best to start over. Find a company that is not looking for a core because you may not get much once they see the crack.
If the disc teeth are worn out, the disc is to small of a diameter to rub into the case. Plus the teeth are gone so how could there be enough friction to cut into it?
The plate does not turn.
Talk and words are cheap. I certainly would take it apart once I installed another transmission. I am one of those people that got to know.
