My main concern is if the headers will bolt on . I know they are not good headers performance wise . I just need to know if they will physically fit to manifold correctly & if they have any known physical tube or heat problems or serious fitment issues with a vintage 70's engine
Yes, they should fit. Over the years folks have used them on here.
Second, shorties are great for heavy pickups. An engine only wants long tubes when they are running higher RPMs. That's when the "scavenging" effect comes in to play. Shorties are not as restrictive of exhaust flow as factory manifolds. This is your goal.
