12v conversion

41 1/2 ton V8, I see complete kits for 6v-12v conversion. Is this the best way to go or can you do better piecing it together??

HI

I made everything 12v, put in a 12 to 6 volt reducer to the instrument panel and used the orginal 6volt fuel tank armature, oilpressure switch and temperature sender on the cylinder head.
i altso uppgraded to 12v electronic distributor and 12v ministarter. my generator is from a fork lift(hitachi).
i used most of the original wiering but put inn a new fuseblock.

works great.
you can find some pics in my tread a little further down

Nils
