Diesel water trap problem

I have a 2000 2.5 T/Diesel 4x4 Ranger (in UK). The water trap warning light has come on and the Owner's manual tells me to empty it. Makes sense, except that the drawing in the manual and reality do not match! There is no drain tap or pipe as shown and the whole thing is wrapped in a steel sleeve, so it is difficult to get at anyway. I guessed that I should remove the bottom of the unit where the sensor wires are attached with the unit in situ, but that would result in diesel / water all over the components below it (and it is very hard to see). Not a good idea Does anyone know if I can remove the unit from the sleeve so as to move it to a more suitable location, or does anyone else have any ideas as to how to achieve my aim of a water-free unit for my oil-burner?

Thats a tough question, not many diesel UK rangers here. Have ytried calling the dealer and see if they could tell you how to drain it.
