After 3 Jeeps, I bought my first Ford! The last jeep was crap after wheeling it HARD at least once a week for over a year, couldnt afford to keep putting more armor and parts on it, so i sold it. Had to trailer it to the guy that bought it, of course I used the ford!!! I was amazed at the grunt that the 300 has, coupled to the 5 speed manual. I was sure that the truck would squat more than this, but nope. Has heavy 1/2 towing suspension plus helper springs though. The only time it slowed below 55 on the highway was up a 8% grade about a mile long, otherwise it trucked right along.
That's a nice-looking 1/2 ton and the 300 is a bulletproof engine too.
I like the trailer too by the way. How much does it weigh empty and what's it's load rating? Just curious becuase I been thinking of getting one similar in maybe a 18' x 6' to haul my tractors and atvs.
to tell you the truth, im not really sure. believe it or not, that trailer is about 8 years old, its been recently repainted. Its used mostly for towing our Bobcat, thats the first time its had a real vehicle on it. Not sure how much it wieghs empty, a very very rough guestamite would be maybe 3/4 ton? Its really heavy duty. Even with that Jeep on there, it still rode really rough, I think it has 6 or 7 leafs on each wheel.

I do agree that the 4.9 L Inline 6 has amazing grunt. It tows better than our 5.0 L V-8.
