Looking for better internals
From Australia and have a ford falcon one tonner 5.4 3v with the tr3650 manual, I don't want to go forced induction and looking to build a respectable NA, after the 264/275 lunati cam and a tune it produced 315 rwhp, 318lb -ft ..
can anyone shed some light on this parts line up? Do's and donts? Finding a mechanic here that knows everything about these engines is hard too.
finding parts here in Australia is tedious so some direction would help. Trying to achieve 400-450 rwhp for a NA build.
thanks for any help.
Spend any extra(?) money on getting the heads done, flow is primary in building horsepower. some stock numbers are: Stock intake .100 84 cfm .200 145 cfm .300 208 cfm .400 217 cfm .500 227 cfm .600 227 cfm. Stock exhaust .100 54 cfm .200 100 cfm .300 125 cfm .400 143cfm .500 153 cfm .600 158 cfm Exhaust flows kinda suck but the intake flows are good for around 450hp and I understand porting can help a lot.
Richard Holdener knows his way around an engine and a dyno so his book, Building 4.6l / 5.4l Ford Horsepower on the Dyno, would be one I suggest. Interestingly, there are many more books on the 4.6 than the 5.4.
