Custom or different doghouse

I have a 2005 e250 . I'm looking to maximize my space and was wondering if anyone has any leads on alternative doghouses , the only ones I've found are all the same generic one

The design is limited by the cutout. I’ve only seen them bigger in custom vans and RVs.

Get a spare doghouse then cut away all but 3-4” from the seal. Dummy up the tightest fit you can manage with a wireframe fill in with fiberglass. Leave some clearance for engine movement and airflow.

I think you can only shave off the cup holders and pocket. You’re not going to make space for more front row seating or a wider front passenger footwell.

The engine cover as typically found in E-Series is two pieces, the actual cover shell and the drink holder for lack of a better term. Going back to about 1997 up to 2008 or so there should be three different choices, all if which are simple to change.

Here are two examples:

Version 1

Version 2:

This one also shows up in an eBay search, not sure if it will also interchange:

Version 3

Hope this helps!

Leave it alone
The engine needs the air space
Lose the cupholder if necessary

The removable cup holder or center console are located 100% inside the cabin and don't intrude into the actual engine bay at all.

I assumed the OP is maximizing cabin space. I didn’t think of the question as maximizing engine bay space.

I am saying leave the engine space alone and the only thing you can remove is the cupholders and cubby
Right, he is tired of banging his knees when getting in the drivers seat like all of us
