Been a Mariner fan since birth and will be until death. The funny thing is, we don't need Ken Griffey Jr, or Randy Johnson or Alex Rodriguez. Funny isn't it? I believe this year is our year to go all the way and we will not let those damn Yank-offs take that away again!
For the first time in ten years I am proud to say I'm a Twin's fan. Things haven't been the same since puckett left, but Tom Kelly has this bunch of kids turning heads, Almost the All-Star beark and we are still in first place. Go Twinkies!!
LAST EDITED ON 24-Jun-01 AT 09:20 PM (EST)[p]Used to like the Braves but now I won't watch pro baseball. I can't stand it since they went on strike. They were only making $500,000 to only God knows how many millions before the strike. Now hot dogs are $15 at Turner Stadium. Another thing that pissed me off. Even if Ted does own the stadium, they should have called it "Hank Aaron Stadium" to honor one of the greatest players the Braves ever had.
i here ya, how about a rod, 252 million dollars. nobody, and i mean nobody is worth that kind of money. and as you said, the stadiams are named after the biggest corp. sponsor. although you can still see good ball being played, it just seems it's all about money now. but having said that, watching randy j or pedro m pitch is still awesome. or seeing sammy or big mac crush one.
the end of june and the cubs are in first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will continue to field undertalented teams as long as they sell ou the park every summer for about 3 months straight. People like me have to quit rooting for them so they will get some really good players. Why should the ownership bother to spend the big money when the "cheap" players still put butts in the seats.
Red Sox all the way! Lived in MA all my life, always a hometown boy. Besides, if we ever do win the World Series, I don't think any other city could be half as excited as the fans in Boston would be. Definitely hate the Yankess, but that's mainly from going to school with punks from NY/NJ, and even those from CT who side with whatever team is winning at the time.
Oakland A's as long as I can remember. I cheer for the Mets when they play because I now a guy that plays. Won't tell ya who he is, but he's been hit by Clemmons ( like who hasn't right). I used to be a big Nolan Ryan fan when he played. Great pitcher and spokesman for the sport. He wouldn't pitch around Bonds. He'd go right past him if he was still playing. Maybe Houston should sign his son. I'm not too sure of Oakland's decision making lately. Letting Jason Giambi go. Then Jeremy. Now probably one of the best prospects in baseball, Carlos Pena, They had the best pitching staff in the league the past couple of years, that's slowly being broken up. What's next, a move to L.A. Sometimes I can't wait to move to Boston just so I can root for the real Sox.
the Cleveland Indians! since birth! even though our owner Larry Dolan is to cheap to pay anybody and we are now "rebuilding" i will alway support the TRIBE!
