I’m hoping in next couple weeks I can get the rearend ready to swap in. Where booked up on customer work right now so truck work tends to come between other stuff.

Well so far so good drives way better definitely going to save and do a 11 up steering box and I’m thinking swap to the duramax powersteering pump at same time. Now to get the rearend done next hopefully sooner than later.

Nice looks good. I'd definitely do the 11+ box and saginaw conversion with that bracket that guy on here sells. Its well worth it. Mine steers just like a 6.7 truck. Same wheels I got on mine. Mine are just 20x10.

Did a once over on truck installed a new ford steering shock had to shorten lower factory radiator hose about 1 1/2 in to clear. Truck drives leaps and bounds better than before old frontend was really good shape but still no comparison. Still need to swap the 05 up master cylinder in soon as I get the rearend swapped.

Also need to pull the front lower crash bar off a parts truck I guess that’s what it’s called and have it sand blasted so I can powder coat it. And install it as well but definitely enjoying the ride quality so far eventually plan on some lift springs and thinking the better resivor fox shocks at some point.

I have the icon 2.5 dual rate leveling springs and fox non reservoir shocks and it's rides good. When you do the rear end swap swap to 11+ 250 diesel rear springs. They ride way better in the rear.

When I first got done with my swap I had the icon front springs and 08 rear springs and front was wa abetter the the rear. Seemed like front was doing all the work. Swapped in a set of 11+ springs and it equaled it out a lot. Can feel the rear end actually working now like the front.

The coil spring front axle is a great swap.....I did the 11+ steering gear too.....and that is a great swap, I see no need for more power steering pump than the OEM from 2001...(with 380k on it)

To be honest my old steering gear had less play than this 05 box but this 05 gear requires significantly less effort to turn the wheel. Especially now that all the air has worked out of the system im kinda wondering if there’s something more restrictive about the earlier boxes.

I believe it's just the newer boxes are bigger bore internals so it outputs more with the same pressure. 11+ is even bigger bore so it will output more.

Well the search begins to slowly collect parts for 11 up rear springs and steering box. Main concern for now is getting rearend swapped in but I’m definitely going to start looking for other parts as well.

I still have that lower gearbox shaft you can get the right end off of and then you will just need new bolts and gearbox. Everything else off the 05 will swap right over. Bolts you need are m16x2x140.

Rear 11+ springs you have to move front spring hanger forward but I'd imagine you can handle that. Cut it off then put the back rear most holes in bracket where the front holes went in frame. 2 line up and bolt it on then drill the others.

Even bigger yet the 05 box uses I’m thinking m14 been a while since I ordered a hole box of correct length for 05 axle swaps on obs trucks. Out of curiosity is the pressure hoses the same connection on box.

Yea, you have to drill steering box holes out again. That's the worst part about it. Lines and pitman arm will be the same as the 05 box you have on it now.
