Hey everyone I’m new to this age group, I wandered over from the 57-60 group for a quick visit.
Anyway I’ve got a 51 M1 and I finally came across so mercury badges for the hood and just realized it’s a 52 hood. So my question is how different are the hoods and is it possible to put the 51 custom cab spears on the 52 hood. Also wondering about the front badge as well. Here are some pictures. Not the best pic sorry.

The main difference between the 51 and 52 hoods are the front holes. The 52 has larger holes, and the 51 has 3 instead of the 52's 2 holes. The 52 hood can be modified by cutting a center hole for the 51 front emblem. I believe, near as I can tell by looking at it, that the 51 front trim will barely cover the larger outboard holes. The side trim is another matter. I've never has a 51 deluxe to compare to. It looks like the holes for the side trim would be pretty close to in the same place, although the larger holes for the round F series button on the 52 appears will need to be filled to go with a 51.
