Electric Trailer Towing Mirrors ?

I bought my truck w/ the regular smaller electric mirrors and the dealer said they would get me the elecrtic TT mirrors. Does anyone know if Ford makes the electric TT mirrors w/ out the turn signal/clearence lights. On the build site they only list the manual glass or the electric w/ heat and signals ect. I want all the cool stuff on there but I don't want my dealer to rip me if they do in fact offer just a plain electric TT mirror.

I do believe the old style are still available. I would suggest that the dealer understands which mirrors you want before it becomes a problem.

Up until mid '03 the TT mirrors were offered in either a manual or electric mode only. The electric version only moved the glass, no heat or sigs.

There's probably a few of these left, and for the dealer to give you the newer style would require the newer wiring harness, etc.

He could, theoretically, just supply the "elephant ears" w/o heat as they'll just plug into your existing harness.

My truck was delivered in Oct. '03 with the older style TT electric mirrors and I convinced my dealer to supply the heated versions at no cost provided I did the installation.

They're not difficult to swap, you just need to have some wiring abilities.

Having said that, your '04 may already be wired for heat and you won't need to worry about it at all. If you remove the door panel, you'll find the harness plugs just under the window/lock switches.

You should have yellow and purple wires for the glass movement, and if your lucky: green, brown, and black w/white tracer for the sigs, clearance, and heat.

This is my swap, and there's a couple of links to get you through the door removal:

Good luck,
