Why is 6.7 engine throwing oil onto upper engine bay
Went in for oil change & service tech found oil on upper part of engine compartment, to the rear & on rear of the engine hood.
What would be causing that? Any suggestions appreciated. My hope is that it’s not a main bearing because it’s the upper part, in the rear of the engine compartment.

had the same problem recently
the oil is coming from you intercooler tubes…they either are loose at the clamps…or..you have the famous cracked tube problem.
the oil path is oil from your CCV tube is sucked into your intake…then flows thru the turbo…which puts this oil spray in the path of the inter cooler tubes.
6.7’s circulate a lot of oil mist from CCV to the intake system.
my take is that more mist is generated with blended oils and thinner oils such as 5w40.
as fuel dilution occurs the oil level rises and the self leveling system kicks in which is to suck the diluted oil into your intake.
thus, the oil level will always appear to be full as diesel and soot is added to the mix.
check your tubes for cracks…especially the under side of the top forward tube
Taking truck to dealership service center (same place that replaced engine in 2020) & at least now zI can suggest where to look. Thanks for the responses.
