What year did Ford trucks get auto-park wipers?
I shut off the wipers and they stop where they are. It would be great if they returned to the bottom of the windshield before stopping.
I'm not sure when they started but it was before 1961. Certainly by 1964 they did. All of my trucks park their wipers in the correct place. Shop manual shows pieces related to parking lever. Now the trick for you will be figuring out a solution.
The dash switch powers on the wiper motor. When the dash switch is turned off, the parking switch lever keeps the wiper moving until it gets to the park position. At the park position IIRR, a cam opens the parking switch lever turning off the motor.
What I can not remember is if there is 1 positive wire and 2 grounds or vise versa. You need to look into that part. I "think" it is 2 positive wires???
BTW: if the manual is not clear. Look up boat wiper motors at West Marine or Overtons or the like. Then find the install instructions. They work basically the same way.
