I wondering if anyone has had similar experiences as I have with the Power Stop calipers? Any insight is appreciated.
In 2020 I bought both front and rear kits including loaded calipers, slotted & cross drilled rotors and pads. The first set of rear calipers leaked from the pistons, Amazon sent a second kit and it was fine.
Fast forward 3 years but only 4,000 miles and it seems like the front calipers are seizing up. My truck is garaged so its not sitting on grass or dirt. I took the pins apart and made sure they were free and lubed them up again. The caliper pistons move freely but after a few hard stops the front wheels are smoking, very hot and it will pull to the left or right on braking and making the truck bounce as if I was driving over a bumpy road. Once cooled down there isn't any drag so it's almost like the pistons are tight in the caliper bore.
I was going to order another set from Power Stop but I'm afraid I'll get the same thing. Of course the prices have almost doubled in the 3 years on these kits.
I remember working at the dealership when these trucks were new, we had a lot of caliper issues due to the phenolic pistons, but these pistons appear to be steel.
Same issue on my 2003. If you purchased from PowerStop within the past 3 years , I think, they will send you replacements if you provide a receipt. I changed out the left caliper and now the right is doing the same thing just as you have described. Very dangerous.
I've been a powestop fan for quite a few years, Ive run the pads on many vehicles without any issues. I bought the rear caliper set for my 2001 Super Duty in mid 2020 and so far, have not had any issues.
I have read a lot of bad stories on the vehicle forums I am on, which really makes me worried about mine failing sooner than later.

I chose to order a set of their calipers again, not the complete brake kit. I'm going to inspect them before installation. I thought of buying motorcraft & painting them but the finish won't last long. I'll report back.
