Well, this is relatively stupid, but maybe it can help someone else…
My truck has had a mildly annoying rattle from somewhere since the beginning, it was only happening at low RPM under torque and lasted for a few seconds. I tried several times to find the source, I also asked the dealer, no success, all the metal I could see underneath was solid and could not cause any rattle.
A couple of days ago I decided to add a cover to the rear license plate. The plate as you know is attached with two screws on the top, and the bottom is free to move, vey close to the tailgate… and while I was doing it I realized that THAT could have been the cause of my rattle! Presto, a couple of small felt stickers on the back of the plate, and my rattle is gone!!!

…it only took three years to find it!
Nice job and good fix too. I have a rattle inside my tailgate...its a small nylon nut and a saw it fall in (about five years ago) but to get it out requires the dismantle of the entire assembly
On my '07 I had a rattle. Passenger side, sounds like it's in the door. I tore the interior panels off of the door multiple times to find the rattle, but never could. Years go by, damn rattle is still there when I hit a bump.
One day my wife is getting into the truck, she grabs the handle above the door and perfectly replicates the "door" rattle. It was a loose handle above the door. 30 seconds with a screwdriver to fix.

Please elaborate. How is it you do not have license plates displayed
It was my poor attempt at humor.
Usually when someone comes on here to tell the forum something that is making a noise or trying to figure out how to fix something, someone chimes in that is why they skipped that option.
Usually it’s a moonroof or adaptive cruise.
Just thought the license plate would be funny because we actually all have to have that item.
I have a rattle from the inside top of the dash that is driving me crazy! Any suggestions would be helpful (before I rip out the dash!!)
I had an acorn in there once on my 2015. My 2021 had a seal that ran along the dash and windshield that blocked things from going down there. I don’t know if my 2023 has the same thing, I’ll have to look.
I'm surprised you could actually hear that from in the cab. Were the plate screws super loose too?
Not really, it was just that being VERY close to the tailgate (maybe one millimeter) just the normal oscillation of the metal plate was enough to touch the gate and rattle…
