Originally placed my order in October of 2022 for a '23 model 6.7 H.O. After continued delays, resubmitted the order as a 2024 F-350 DRW King Ranch 6.7 H.O. 8/12/23. Scheduled week of 2/19/24, in production 2/26/24 and just received confirmation it was built yesterday 3/13/24. Getting delivered to Nashville and taking a long route back to Alaska. 6,500 mile break-in trip.

Amazing. I have a F-450 that I ordered from JANUARY 2022, 26 months ago. It went from a 2022 to a 2023 and then to a 2024 F-450 order. I don't think that the dealer wants to sell it at the 4% BELOW Invoice as contracted so they placed it with a crappy priority code. I gave up on seeing that truck ever getting built.
I then ordered a 2024 F-450 Platinums from 2 separate Large local dealerships. The Fleet manager at the first local dealership is a neighbor and friend that I had purchased 4 previous trucks from in the last 5 years. In July of 2023 said he only had 3 allocations for 2024 F-450 Platinums. It took 6-1/2 weeks to get delivered/ My order was the first he ordered the day the order banks opened. I just picked it up 6 weeks ago.
My friend Just ordered a F-350 Dually King Ranch with a 7.3L Gas engine from him with X-Plan on 2/5 and TWO WEEKS later got an email with a build date email of 4/8. It should get delivered less than 3 months from order date!

I know the wait seems to get longer based on options. Last month I ordered a Lariat, long bed, srw, diesel with Ultimate and chrome package, fifth wheel prep and a few other smaller items. I really liked the look of the rapid red with the black appearance package but stuck with the chrome. Probably my last big truck as the only reason for having one is our fifth wheel and we are going to retire from the rv life in the next 5 years or so. I finally decided I might as well get what I want as the wait probably won't change so I had my dealer delete the chrome package and add the black appearance. My dealer didn't see any reason it would affect anything. Hopefully it won't.

For many of these other very long term orders I have to wonder just how many trucks those dealer sell and have the allotments for, I would think that could explain some of these delays. I went to a local dealer that also has a commercial truck center, the commercial side of the dealership moves a pretty high number of trucks, always different inventory when you drive by. When we stopped in to discuss what we wanted the first salesman that met us at the door asked what we were looking for, when I said “an F-450” he said “Oh, then you want to go back down this hallway and talk to our commercial sales guys”. We are so happy it worked out that way, apparently there was another F-450 ordered up in the main dealership showroom the week before ours (Nov11, 2023) and that one didn’t get a build date scheduled until Feb 12-ish, my scheduled build date of Feb 12th was issued on Dec 18th. It sure seems that a higher volume truck dealer gets things moving more quickly.

I found this on another forum just now after doing my best to not bug my dealer. If you webchat Ford and find that your truck has shipped via rail on Norfolk Southern, they'll give you the rail car number your truck is on and you can track it using their automated phone system. My truck has gone from Louisville to Kansas City on it's way to Granger. There's another similar way if you've shipped CSX.

Things must be very dynamic at KTP right now. Tracker showed 3/11 production date since mid January. Last Thursday tracker says date change to 3/18 , no email from Ford. Monday 3/11 email from Ford my truck is now scheduled for 3/18. Tracker today says my truck is in production, no email from Ford. Hopefully I get an email Monday confirming tracker.
