Tell you what I suspect but can't prove:
1. I think the mounting points would be different enough that even if you were proficient in metal work, it would be a pain to convert CC boards to SC.
2. As I recall ordering my '22, the extra length boards were not part of a package, but were available with lots of other packages. Mine is a XLT Premium, and would have come with standard length PVD boards, but I chose to upgrade to the longer boards. Because ordering the longer boards required a special effort for the buyer, "pull-offs" might be hard to find. But I think if you want to go to the longer board on your super cab, either pull-offs or aftermarket may be the best route.
I really like my longer boards and understand why you'd want them.
