Question wireing

okay , heres my issue i own a 1988 ford f150 , with inline 6. i put a new starter solenoid in , as doing so i a accidentaly put the strater ground on the postive terminal to the solenoid. as i havent relized yet i had also made another mistake i put the negtaive on the battery before the postivie before noticing i touched the postivie to the post and the truck tryed cranking, on its on with no key or anything reallinz this i jerked the postivie off fast as i can. then after fixing the solenoid issue , i hooked everthing back up but this time iu had nothing , no lights no raid no nothing.

did i kill my battery? or did i blow a fuse?

afterwards i hooked another battery to mine via jumper cables thing it may add extra jucie and to my overall veli nothing still no lights or raido? and i gotta get it fixed before 21st. is this a simple issue or worse and im fairly young only 16 , so any wisdom will not be wasted

The wiring on the starter solenoid should look like this:

The starter is grounded through the connection to the engine block. In the photo above the red lead (on the right) is from the battery positive terminal. All the fuse links are also connected to that same lug. The black lead (left) goes to the starter.

In your scenario having the battery and starter leads swapped on the solenoid is not an issue as long as the fuse links follow the battery positive terminal connection. More than a few times folks have connected the fuse links on the lug that goes to the starter (wrong).

Could be a bad battery or the ground is compromised. Clean the both terminals on the battery. If you are using those crappy universal replacement terminals get rid of them. Check/clean the ground terminal at the engine block too. Inspect all the large wiring for signs of internal corrosion (green). Very common problem on any old vehicle.
