vibration nightmare
This deals partly with my post on tranny leak. It appears that the bolts in my extension housing to tranny vibrated out. After I *sorta* fixed that problem I drove it around the front of the house and heard what sounded like serpentine belt screech. I popped the hood to look and gasped. I looked perpendicular to the motor and the alternator/belt tensioner/airpump pulleys were canted from the remaining pulleys by about 20 degrees. I gave a little push and pull to the altenator and the whole mess was loose. I removed the belt and discovered the only thing holding the bracket( which mounts the alternator, belt tensioner, and air pump) was only in place because of the belt, none of the 4 bolts holding these components in place were there!!!!!!! Had to purchase 2 bolts and make a stud, 4th bolt broke clean flush and without a lot of work in this fine Pennsylvania rain I left it alone for now. My thought is...what it next? I have 190k on the motor and it is slowly fading, get about 8-9 mpg, terrible performance. I guess you combine that with some 33 inch mud tires and run it on the highway and this is the results. Any ideas anyone?

I'm not sure why you have so many bolts falling out of that truck. Maybe a poor mechanic owned it before you did? Again, maybe you can tighten everything up and make it work. I would start checking all the nuts and bolts on your truck.
