I have a 98 Eddie Bauer Explorer that was laid on its side. It has 92000 miles and was kept in immaculate condition. The insurance company told me that for 800 dollars after the payoff I could keep the truck. What could I expect to get for it in salvage. The drivers side slid down the pavement so that side is ruined, but the rest is in good shape. Any ideas on how to get the most for salvage? I have to do this quick so I can replace the vehicle. As always thank you in advance!
The insurance companeys base that $800 they'll let you keep the truck for on what the salvage yard will give them. If I understand you right, you want to sell the remains of that Explorer for the highest price you can get out if it.
If thats the case this is my 2 cents: Call around to your local junk yards and see what they tell you. Or you could part it out youself. If it runs and only body damged put an add in the your local papper, lots of gear heads out there looking for doner vehicles.
Dont know if this answered your question. Good luck.
Sounds like to me you can get a few grand for it, as long as the truck runs and drives....you could also part it out dont know which route you would get more money or faster turn around....but i would try ebaymotors put an ad up there, along with pictures of it i always see tons of cars with salvage titles and they all seem to have bids on them, i saw an explorer like yours i think it was a 99, it sufferd damage to the front and rear and it had i think 5 bids and last i checked it was up to 3k, they also have lots of roll over vehicals, i would put up on there and then put some local ads out...oh and also i would have shipping avaliable at buyers exspense thats always a plus on ebay, So i would say the quckest and eaisest turn around route would be to put it on ebay and in your local papers, car papers. GOOD LUCK
