Let's pretend that I just bought my first diesel recently and I had no idea that "propane injection" was an option, let alone a good idea, until about 10 minutes ago?
Man, I sometimes wish I woulda held out and waited for a PSD Excursion to show up around me, simply so I could have run propane and a chip and embarrased many, many cars out there!
Well, there's always room in the driveway for another!!
Instead of typing all my own words I thought I'd just give you at least one site for it. Also do a search for Powershot 2000. You'll find more than a few places to buy it. All prices seem to all be around $549 w/o tank.
There are other systems out there, although The Powershot 2000 seems to be king!
Depends on the size and type of tank. You could put it underneath between the frame rails. I don't think you could put it where the spare is and then relocate the spare. . You could also get one of theose hitch cargo carriers and put it (them!!) on there.

Okay... a lot of online research and a few conversations later, I think that Propane Injection is not for me... at least not now with this truck in this configuration.
The tank storage issue was a big one, and the reality of initial cost + propane filling cost/hassle don't appear to yield enough of a power/mileage gain to justify themselves right now.
I'm heavily leaning towards a programmer and an exhaust change to get some more throttle response in the short term. Thanks for your help.
